  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Apr 3, 2025, sent to the company Apr 8, 2025, published by CPSC Apr 22, 2025

The product, in the report: https://www.amazon.com/Keenray-Upgraded-Adjustable-Oversize-Bathrobes/dp/B0DF22JXRD?ie=UTF8&th=1 It is an electric powered towel and clothing warmer to be used in the bathroom. It has three settings: low, medium, high. The dangerous part is the metal ring around the top used to hang items for warming.

My wife received second degree burns from a metal ring that was heated to above 170 degree F on this product: https://www.amazon.com/Keenray-Upgraded-Adjustable-Oversize-Bathrobes/dp/B0DF22JXRD?ie=UTF8&th=1

The product is a towel and clothing item warmer. It has 3 levels: low, medium, and high. The product also has a metal ring around the top part of the opening to hang items on for warming, like socks. While reaching down into the warmer to get some clothing items out of the bottom, my wife’s forearm contacted the metal ring around the top for less than a second. In that time, it left two burn marks on her arm. After she received the burns, I used an infrared temp gun to get the temperature of the rings. In three separate readings, it maxed out at 168 degrees F, which is hot enough to cause contact burns in under a second. There are warning labels on the top, so the manufacturer obviously knows there is a burn danger with this product but has not changed the design. This is especially an issue with children that may try to reach down into the warmer to get a towel since they are shorter and may be more likely to make contact. We immediately removed the metal rings.
