The reports, as CPSC published them
Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.
Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Medium sized Freeze Dryer for home use
I noticed that the metallic tray rack in a Harvest Right freeze dryer is not “safety grounded”, yet the tray has AC power electric heat. So when handling the tray during removal and reinstallation, for instance, a short to the rack would be dangerous. To make matters worse, these wires pass through a punched hole in the frame without any sort of chafe protection.

The product, in the report: Freeze Dryer
The consumer indicates that his freeze dryer has very sharp edges. Per manual instruction, he was cleaning the unit shelves with a warm rag atop his kitchen counter when he slashed his right hand and thumb.
The consumer contacted the Manufacturer and explained the situation; the representative he spoke to lamented the situation and explained they would look into the cause in the factory; the shelves were replaced. The consumer believes the replacement shelves are equally as dangerous.
The consumer visited the urgent care and received a compression bandage as he had waited twenty-four hours and could not get stitches anymore.
The consumer later received a letter from the CEO asking for documents pertaining to the incident (medical files, photographs of the injury and the unit, etc.); the consumer has yet to hear back from them.
The consumer states that the unit is still in use approximately once every two months for thirty-six hour each use.
The consumer plans on keeping his unit for at least the next thirty days in case an investigation ensues.
