  1. No one hurt

Made Apr 18, 2014, sent to the company May 5, 2014, published by CPSC May 19, 2014

The product, in the report: H2O X5, 5 in 1 steam mop with reusable/washable cloth fabric inserts that cleans with water

Purchased a H2O X5 mop from a T.V. commercial through Thane Direct. Purchased on 02-19-2013 and received on 03-06-2013, which was late due to backorder. On 04-14-2014, wife was using the steam mop and all of a sudden the mop quit working. The body portion of the mop unit became very hot and stopped working. I allowed it to cool down before inspecting the unit. I found cracks on the plastic of the body unit amd some warping. Upon looking at the water tank, I saw cracks on the back portion which appeared water was seaping into the electrical components causing the unit to fail. I called customer service on 03-18-2014 regarding a solution t the problem. Customer service department suggested that my one year warranty was over by 5 weeks and that I purcahse another entire unit product. I asked them if there were any recalls on the unit that were caused from the overheating. They answer “No”. I suggested to them that the unit nees to tbe redesigned or install a type of insulation in the plastic portion of the body including the water tank as to prvent cracking and electrical malfunction.
