The product, in the report: coffee roaster
We had a Gene Cafe Coffee roaster. Have roasted coffee for about 1.5 years so we were comfortable with the roaster, and knew how to operate it. Sat night we were roasting beans. When it got to the end of the roast cycle, it beeps to let you know it is going in to cool down, and will be done. That night, it beeped, but then continued to beep. We went to check to see why it didn’t stop and found the roaster up in flames! Luckily my husband checked it, or we would have had a severe house fire on our hands. (I have photo’s of the fire and the damage). Upon further research, I find this roaster has many problems with the heating element..usually dieing..ours must have overheated and caught fire. I contacted the company, there response: [REDACTED] (Batch Coffee) Feb 04 14:54 Hi [REDACTED], Yahtzee! We don’t like to see that ever. We hope everyone is okay. What year is your machine? With a fire of this magnitude, there does not appear to be anything to salvage. Please be sure to never leave your roaster unattended - the Gene Cafe or any other roaster for that matter. Best [REDACTED]
I believe this roaster has problems, and I would be happy to send you pictures, and the demolished machine.
