The product, in the report: “Cra-Z-Art The Original Snoopy Sno-Cone Machine”. The box of the toy shows Snoopy on top of his house, which is a snow cone grinder, with Peanuts and his Friend holding a Snow Cone that is red flavored. Adjacant is a picture of a Red shovel, and other side there is a Snow Man.

    Dear Safer Products. Gov,

A defective toy gift was given to my child. The product is the “Cra-Z-Art The Original Snoopy Sno- Cone Maker (or Machine)”. Briefly, the product is used to crush ice into snow, and then you can spray over it juice to make it a snow-cone.

The toy we got was not defective out of the box. The problem starts when turning the grinder. It is a plastic mechanical handle that spins the outer plastic grinder. When these two pieces of plastic turn, the friction causes some of the plastic to fall into the snow. So the kids, they will end up eating small bits of plastic along with the snow.

To be fair, I spun the plastic handle because it would not grind the ice. But after about 1 minute, there were 2 small plastic pieces (as big as a piece of pepper) in the snow. If you follow the instructions and spin slowly, the grinder does not work. You need to spin with some force for the toy to work.

The toy was immediately returned to Walmart. Luckily, I saw the plastic and did NOT give my child any of the snow cone. So we are safe.
