No one hurt Made Feb 26, 2015, sent to the company Mar 9, 2015, published by CPSC Mar 23, 2015
The product, in the report: Brookstone towel warmer - tall, tubular device with heater built in.
I purchased a Brookstone Towel Warmer model number 647156 at least 8-10 years ago, so it is long out of warranty. I accept that.
What I do not accept is the melting of the case and, consequently, possible electrical/plastic fire. A couple of years ago the part of the case began to be distorted (as shown in the photograph attached) as if there was extreme heat underneath. I can only presume that a heating element or other electrical component was shorting and/or overheating.
I put it in the garage, notified the company, and, promptly, forgot about it. When I came across it today, I remembered that I had intended to notify you as well. Better late than ever, as I still would hate to see and injury or a fire started as a result of the problem in the towel warmer.
Thanks for your attention to this.

Brookstone Towel Warmer faulty on/off switch. Warmer will not shut off automatically when it’s supposed to. It stays on for an extended period of time, or cuts off and back on again. The warmer has to be unplugged to shut it off.
