The product, in the report: Behmor 1600 Plus Coffee roaster. A drum style home roasting device for home use by amateur coffee roasters.

Behmor 1600 Plus home coffee roaster.

Upon first use, coffee beans burst into flames consuming the entire interior of the machine. The flames subsided after about one minute. Heavy smoke continued to emanate from the device for a good 15 additional minutes. While there was smoke damage to property, no injuries were sustained.

I have been home roasting coffee for over 15 years. I have never experienced beans igniting with any previous roaster.

I had carefully read the manual, including all the safety warnings, and followed the instructions to the letter, prior to attempting first use.

Note that a Google search “Behmor 1600 fire” will bring up several reports of this machine causing a fire.
