The product, in the report: Rotimatic Plus

I bought this Rotimatic machine for my kitchen and it has multiple issue and also the body of the machine is cracking and plastic chuck are coming out from the crack and plastic body is getting sharp. My wife cut her fingers while cleaning once and I reported that to manufacture about the issue multiple times but they dont want to fix the body. They are saying that the cracks wont affect the performance of machine and it should not have any issue with the machine. I told them about the sharp cracks and they told me to clean carefully when cleaning.

The product, in the report: Rotimatic is a bread making machine sold across USA made in Singapore. My Order number is [REDACTED]. My order included these items. Dispenser Cleaning Solution -1 Roti Basket -1 Extended Protection Plan - ([REDACTED]) - Paid $399 Rotimatic Plus - Model/Machine Number (ZM82212CAB24D) - Paid $1524

In April 2023 i bought brand new Rotimatic Plus bread making machine through https://rotimatic.com/ website with 3 years extended warranty. The day i received this product it did not want to start. Hence i contacted the customer service department after 1 month of going back and forth in troubleshooting remotely as they do not have office in USA and this product is made in Singapore for customers located in USA they do everything remotely. After the troubleshooting the machine made bread with lots of flour wastage. I used the recommended flour, water, oil and settings nothing was out of the rule book. Hence every month i had atleast 2 calls with them to fix the issue until one fine day on Dec 29th 2023 the bread came out with a metal screw. I was making the bread for my baby seeing the screw i was shocked. Hence i contacted them. Firstly they were not ready to support later after daily calls for 15-20 days they responded with a video call and it was noticed 4-5 screws were missing from the machine. Screws were missing from the VT, Sweeper and Roti rolling system. But when the bread came out just one screw came out with it which means the metal debris was present in the breads i made in the past and fed my family including my baby who was 8 months old at that time. But she’s been eating bread since she was 6.5 months. After 1 week of fighting and arguing they finally agreed to send me a replacement. The replacement came last week and when i opened it i noticed it was broken as well. I have been contacting them since and till now did not hear a positive response. They do not want to return my money nothing instead they wanted me to take their basket or flour container with the broken part and keep mum. When i reached out to people on social media i noticed this machine not only has issue with screws or metal debris being added to food it also adds molds and plastic particles. It is highly hazardous for kids, babies and adults and I seriously want you to help me in this matter so no one else faces same issue. Please help me get my refund.

The product, in the report: Rotimatic https://rotimatic.com Model ZMA0040ACA-806005688

We had bought Rotimatic (https://rotimatic.com/) which is manufactured outside of USA and we had been using it for about 2 to 3 years. However, during the last year of its use, the machine got some hardware issues which the manufacturer (Rotimatic) could not fix it.

The Rotimatic machine is a bread making machine which users would use it almost on a daily basis (like a toaster, microwave etc) and it directly deals with the food we’d eat.

Usually the manufacturer provides a 1 year warranty and then an optional extended warranty to fix issues. However, when we got the issue our warranty had ran out and hence, they declined to fix the issue. We did offer an option for a paid service but there is no such option with this product. Once it’s out of the warranty, you basically have to throw it away if you run into issues.

What happened that made you want to report? - When our machine stopped working due to a heating issue and which could not be fixed remotely by the Rotimatic team, we decided to throw it away. However, then we had a family member who is an engineer who knows how electronics work and we decided to open the machine to try and fix it on our end. We eventually found a potential hardware issue with the machine which could have been fixed, however, when we opened the machine we found that there was a lot of dirt and fungus and other things which would make the machine unhygenic to use even after repair. Some parts of the machine were so bad that they must be replaced with new parts before use. However, the machine has no way to alert the user on such issues and neither has option to clean or fix them in an easy way at user’s end. I will attach the photos of the internal parts if there is an option later on in the form OR you can reach out to me and I can provide the details as needed.

The problem is that this machine is used for daily meals by thousands of users and they are unaware that: - machine cannot notify of the dirty and unhygenic parts inside. - fungus on the water and oil pipes -> Rotimatic recently came up with a cleaning option via vinegar , however not every model has this option and not everyone is aware of it. Also, machine does not show how clean the pipes are after the cleaning. So even if there is a fungus or dirt in the pipes, there is no way user would know. - glass fiber is used beneath the hot plate which could get mixed with the rotis after wear and tear. - no paid option from the Rotimatic in case of hardware issues. Other than warranty period there is no way to fix these issues. - Basically any user who is using this machine for 4-5 months, is already eating breads (rotis) with fungus or dirt mixed.

What type of product(s) were being used? Rotimatic - daily bread maker: https://rotimatic.com

Who was using the product(s)? Probably at least a million users by now world wide. Not sure of their US sales count. In our home everyone ate the breads made by this machine for about 2 to 3 years.

How were the product(s) being used? Daily, to make the bread.

Were there any injuries that happened or may have happened while using the product? No injuries.

How did any injuries occur? See my comment above on the hygenic part.
