The product, in the report: Master Forge Large Grill Brush

On 8/27/12 I was preparing dinner with my fiancé. He was making hamburgers and brats on the grill and I was cooking French Fries in the oven. Since the Hamburgers and Brats were done before the French Fries, my fiancé [REDACTED] cut up one of the brats for us to snack on until rest of our dinner was ready. As soon as I bit into a piece of the brat I knew something was wrong. I could feel something cutting me, from inside my throat. I starting yelling at [REDACTED] that “Something is in my throat” It’s in my throat!!!! OMG it’s in my throat!! In a panic I ran to the bathroom to see if I could see what was in my throat. [REDACTED] ran to the neighbor’s and asked what he should do. They said to bring me to the Emergency room. At the Emergency room the Nurses asked me what happened. I told them I swallowed a bristle from the metal grill brush we use to clean the grill. I don’t think they believed me but sent me upstairs for a CT scan to be done. Much to the doctors and nurses surprise I was right. They could see the bristle in my throat on the CT scan!! This is when my nightmare began. Florida Hospital Deland does not specialize in throat extractions so I was EVAC’d to Florida Hospital Orlando for them to surgically remove the bristle from my throat. The next morning I arrived in the Orlando branch of Florida Hospital and my 1st surgery was scheduled for later that afternoon. The Surgery was done with no success. I was then EVAC’d to Florida Hospital – Winter Park to have a 2nd surgery done by the robotic equipment there. Early morning on August 29, 2012 I went into surgery to again try to remove the bristle from my throat. When the doctor’s went in with the robotic arm they could not see the bristle but did see that the bristle had been poking holes in my left tonsil. In hopes that the bristle was in the tonsil the doctor’s removed it. Needless to say, they did not find the Bristle in my tonsil. For 5 hours the doctor’s looked for the bristle with no success. After healing from the doctor’s removing my tonsil, I was scheduled for a 3rd Surgery at Florida Hospital – Winter Park. On October 15, 2012 I arrived at the hospital at 5:30 am. My surgery lasted 6 hours. This time the doctor’s cut the outside of my neck to try to remove the wire. This again was unsuccessful. Now I have been thru 3 Surgeries with no success. I have doctor and hospital bills totaling over $250,000.00 dollars. I have a scar on my neck from the 3rd surgery. This has been a complete nightmare for me and my Family.

The Doctor’s here in Florida don’t know what else to do. The have decided to leave the bristle in the soft tissue of my neck and wait till it gets infected...

The product, in the report: Grill brush, Master Forge brand, replaceable heads. UPC 649398152436

Bought a new Master Forge grill brush at Lowes on 6/22/2012. Have used perhaps 12 times since. Last night I grilled two steaks. I felt a sting in my mouth. Inspected and pulled a brass bristle out of my tongue. There was monor bleeding. Traced it to the bristles on this brush. Later found another under my bridge. I am worried and found another report on your site after googling for master forge grill brush. LG Sourcing is apparently a division of Lowes. Same address in North Carolina. This product should be pulled. I hope I did not swallow other bristles. My husband apparently is OK.
