  1. Emergency room

Made Dec 27, 2017, sent to the company Jan 17, 2018, published by CPSC Feb 1, 2018

The product, in the report: Hurricane Spin Mop is a light weight round headed Mop with a two port bucket to rinse and Spin dry the Mop. It’s a steel colored metal Mop pole with Iight blue plastic handles.

While using the Hurricane Spin Mop I was impaled in the hand. I was spinning the Mop in the wringer basket. As I pulled the Mop up to remove from the spinner basket the top plastic handle came off. In my surprise I tried to grab the Mop pole and the now exposed razor sharp metal pole impaled my hand to the bone. I compressed and bandage the wound for transportation to an Emergency Room. I received (8) eight stitches to mend my hand. The wound was cleaned and dressed daily until my stitches were removed after (2) two weeks. I was instructed to clean and cover for another week. Total disability Time was (3) three weeks.
