Hurt, no treatment Made Jun 28, 2023, sent to the company Jun 30, 2023, published by CPSC Jul 17, 2023
The product, in the report: Birald Grill Cleaning Brush for Grilling Cookware & Grill Rotisseries, 17” Stainless Steel Grill Brush, BBQ Brush for Outdoor Grill available on Amazon under ASIN B0BZ83W2K5. Really any grill brush of this construct should not be on the market in my opinion b/c this is very clearly not safe.
Grill brush that started falling apart and shedding very small pieces of steel into the grill, which were very difficult to detect and ended up in food. I don’t think any were ingested but am very fearful one or more may have been they are small and bendable. This product is extremely dangerous. My wife had a piece in her food and it stabbed into her in the gums. It did not result in major injury but this never should’v happened and risk for swallowing is very scary. There have been other reports of this happening that I have found in the published medical literature. I don’t use this brush a ton, but indeed it was worn, however the pieces falling off were so small it was very difficult to detect them on a dirty grill surface (which this product is intended to be used on). Why is it allowed to sell grill brushes of this construct?!?!?!?!
