Hurt, no treatment Made Oct 28, 2016, sent to the company Nov 7, 2016, published by CPSC Nov 22, 2016
The product, in the report: Hot Tea Tumblr, made by Teavana to brew tea and then take on the road.
The Teavana tumbler has a pop-up center on the top that allows you to drink but then you can push it back down to close so it does not spill. The mechanism is mechanical in nature. It uses the pressure of the top locked into plastic dimples to keep the top open when drinking. When drinking hot tea, what the product was made for, the pressure from the steam overcomes the mechanism and the top pops off spilling hot tea on your face. It has also popped off while driving causing the small parts to fly up in the air distracting the vehicle driver. The mechanism is not worn out, only 45 days old.
Item is the Teavana Contour Tumbler.

The product, in the report: Clear double-walled glass Tumbler by Teavana (Rhapsody Tumbler)
I was using my teavana rhapsody tumbler at work last Friday (July 11th) when the inside glass of my double-walled tumbler shattered unexpectantly. I was just sitting at my desk and the tumbler was about arms length away. I contacted Teavana and they told me there was a recall for their tumbler. I was instructed to bring the tumbler lid into my local store in order to exchange my item.

The product, in the report: 1 broken 1 shattered
Teavana Glass Tea Tumblers - I purchased 2 of these right when they first came out probably around Sept 2012. I absolutely loved it but yes, 1 shattered and the other one broke. I was so devestated as it was one of my favorite on the go cups for my morning commutes. I didn’t realize it was a recalled item. I do not have my current receipt but do have the debit card in which is was purchased at the Willow Bend mall in Plano, Texas OMG will they be coming out with a new and improved one. I now purchased the glass one with the rubber string looking cover over it that came in a set with 2 glasses and a funnel looking thing.

Hurt, no treatment Made Oct 8, 2013, sent to the company Oct 24, 2013, published by CPSC Nov 7, 2013
The product, in the report: Teavana glass double walled tumblar with silver screw cap, wire basket stopper and silver teavana logo and vertical circles (with chinese characters in the circles) on the side.
I had purchased the Teavana glass double walled tumbler between Dec. 26-29, 2012 at Mall of America in Bloomington, MN. The tumbler had a silver screw cap, basket stopper and the Teavana logo and vertical circles (with chinese characters in them) on the side.
On the 4th or 5th time using the tumbler I had filled it with a tea bag and water (near boiling from a hot water faucet - 190-210 degrees). As I returned to my desk I had sat down and carefully put the tumbler floating keyboard tray. Upon setting the filled tumbler down it immediately shattered and spilled the near boiling water onto myself and desk.
I threw the box away in August. The box was fabric lined on the inside and had a side where it opened and folded over and overlapped partially on another side. I don’t have the receipt either but I paid cash (around $40-60 total purchase), purchased 2 10oz tea tins (purple and pink) and bought several ounces of Precious White Peach & Pineapple Kona Pop tea.

The product, in the report: Teal double walled Izmir tumbler
I put tea leaves into the basket of my Teavana teal Izmir double walled glass tea tumbler and filled with boiled water. I picked the tumbler up and went into my living room and set the tumbler on my glass top table, and to my surprise, the bottom cracked and broke away from the rest of the tumbler. Luckily no injuries occurred, just a broken glass mess. I hung on to the lid and the steeper basket.

The product, in the report: Teavana Glass Tea Tumbler
I had been using the Tea Tumbler for about 2 weeks while, at work, I boiled water and poured it into the glass in order to brew some tea. I turned in my computer chair and went to set the glass upon my desk when it barely bumped the bottom corner of the glass causing burning water to spill on my pants and hand, and glass flying everywhere. Luckily no real damage was done to myself or other sitting around me.

The product, in the report: Teavana glass tea infuser/tumbler.
We have two your glass tea tumblers. At 4 am this morning, an empty tumbler was sitting in my 15 year old son’s room and it completely exploded. Glass was spewed all over his room. Had his bookcase not blocked the flying glass pieces, they would have flown into his bed. We have taken video and retained the few large pieces. There was no tea or liquid in the tumbler. Before we report this to the Consumer Protection agency, please advise what you would like us to do.
There appears to be a major design flaw with this tumbler. The only thing we can figure out is that we had a rain storm come through our area at that time which would have resulted in a drop in the barometric pressure. This tumbler made a very loud bang/explosion when it broke apart. Not good. Flying glass is dangerous and can cause serious damage.
The above incident description was sent to the company, Teavana and after waiting a week for a response, we decided it was best to notify the CPSC.
We also forwarded images of the damage caused and a video which can be forwarded to you.
