No one hurt Made Dec 10, 2017, sent to the company Mar 27, 2018, published by CPSC Apr 10, 2018
The product, in the report: Picardie Glass Tumblers, 16 oz. Standard in French bistros and cafés, classic Picardie glassware has been a Williams Sonoma customer favorite since Chuck Williams first introduced it more than 40 years ago. The tumblers are made in France of durable tempered glass and are suitable for everything from hot coffee and café au lait to breakfast juices and iced drinks. Made of shatter- and heat-resistant tempered glass. Use to serve both hot and cold beverages. Microwavable and dishwasher safe. 16-oz. cap. Set of six.
I purchased the Picardie Glass Tumbler, 16 oz., Set of 6 from Williams Sonoma in September 2017. I wanted a glass set that could be used cold or hot, and read the description carefully to make sure before the purchase. The description of this product states that “Use to serve both hot and cold beverages.”
However, one glass explode while I was making my tea, and the other explode while my husband was hand washing it with just hot tap water. I tried to reach out to William and Sonoma about the incident, they were very inefficient in replying to me that I just gave up. I then wrote a review warning customers about this glass set, yet William Sonoma did not publish my review saying it didn’t meet their website guidelines. Last time I checked, this product still has a 100% approval rating on their website.
I think this product poses a safety hazard and customers should be warned about it.

No one hurt Made Jul 7, 2014, sent to the company Jul 15, 2014, published by CPSC Jul 29, 2014
The product, in the report: The glass that exploded was the largest of a set of 12-oz, 8 oz & juice glasses. The glasses are called “Picardie” and are manufactured by Duralex, labelled Made In France.
A Duralex 12-oz tumbler exploded in our dishwasher, after the dishwasher had completed its cycle and before the door was opened. This was fortunate, because the tumbler had disintegrated into hundreds of shards, some very sharp and some very tiny. I’ll attach pictures at the end of this report, if your site works this time!

First aid Made Feb 5, 2014, sent to the company Feb 14, 2014, published by CPSC Mar 11, 2014
The product, in the report: Duralex Picardie Tumbler--drinking glass
I reached for a room-temperature Duralex Picardie glass tumbler and it exploded into hundreds of pieces in my hand. The glass was NOT at an extreme of heat or cold, it had NOT been hit or touched in any way other than grasping the glass with my hand (as one would do when reaching for a glass on a shelf). Several small shards went into my hand and the rest were sprayed in a 10 foot radius in my kitchen and dining room.
