The product, in the report: The product was the Nuk Evolution Straw Cup in purple with cats and dogs on it. The lid twists to cover the straw.

My 21-month old child was drinking from her Nuk Evolution straw cup (purple with cats & dogs on it) on 12/10/21, and I noticed she kept looking at the straw and then at me - the straw looked different when it had looked just fine when I handed it to her 30 minutes before. I always look at her cups to make sure there’s no wear before giving them to her. We’ve only used them for water and have followed all care instructions. She was sipping her water from it. I asked her for the cup and when I looked at the straw, I saw that it was broken/severed with the tip of the straw hanging off. I was shocked that a product sold for babies and children would be capable of breaking in her mouth. She easily could have choked on the piece of plastic had it come loose any more. I needed to report this to hopefully prevent another child from choking and possibly dying from the faulty straw. I shared my experience with other moms and a few have told me they had the same issue with this exact cup and straw. I reported it to Nuk with photos as well and am waiting for a response. I’m shaken that my child could have been seriously hurt or could have died choking on this. Please investigate and recall these cups to prevent other children from having this happen, or worse - they are not safe.
