The product, in the report: It was a brown mug that looked like a plant pot that said Rooting For You and had a flower on it.
I am reporting a safety issue with a mug purchased from Kirklands that was labeled as microwave- and dishwasher-safe.
On 12/22/24, my daughter was preparing a mug cake in this mug. Upon removing it from the microwave, she suffered a minor burn to her hand due to the mugs glaze overheating and bubbling. To our shock, the glaze on the mug had melted during microwaving. This not only rendered the mug unusable but also created a significant safety hazard, as the product did not perform as advertised.
The mugs labeling explicitly indicated it was safe for microwave use, which misled us into believing it could handle the heating process safely. This incident could have resulted in more severe burns or other injuries.
