The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: clear glass coffee mug

Washing coffee cup by hand and base of cup broke off and cut my pinky finger on my left hand very deep. The whole flap of skin sliced off. Hard to stop bleeding used pressure bandages \ took a long time to scab over. Showed to my primary care physician who ordered xray because of raised and red inflamed bump. Result negative for broken bone or artifact glass. Referred to orthopedist who tried to lance it, but nothing came out. Sent for mri which showed no debris. Still very painful to bend or if I bump it. Continuing with physician care.

a JoyJolt Declan coffee mug bottom broke when being washed and injured the fingers of a guitarist. Many similar incidents reported on line. The problem is the mug is manufactured with soda lime rather than borosilicate and is unfit for hot and cold usage. We have sued the manufacturer and they claim they are not subject to CPSC jurisdiction. Please take action to have these defective mugs recalled.

The product, in the report: JoyJolt Declan Clear Glass Coffee Mug 16oz with handles for hot beverages

I made myself a cup of coffee in a JoyJolt Declan Coffee Mug. As I carried it to the counter, the bottom separated from the mug. My leg and foot was scalded from the hot liquid. When I checked the reviews and comments on the internet (Amazon) for this product, I noticed that there have been many complaints about the same problem. The product continues to be sold on Amazon and the JoyJolt sites.
