The product, in the report: It was one of a large set of thick-sided thick-bottomed Crisa drinking glasses
A drinking glass that was part of a Crisa (Libbey) set had been washed in our dishwasher the night before. As I took it out of the dishwasher to put it away, it exploded as it clinked against (made slight contact with) another glass in the cabinet. There were hundreds of small pieces, some of which sprayed out of the cabinet onto the counter-top, the floor and the open door of the dishwasher. At least one hit me in the face. Several other pieces had been sent vertically, ending up (as I found out later) inside other glasses on the same shelf. There was also one thick slightly larger piece remaining in the cabinet that I assumed (without examining it directly) was the base of the glass.
My wife and son were also in the kitchen working on Christmas preparations. As they moved toward me and toward the cabinet to see what had happened, the one remaining large piece exploded, spraying additional glass pieces out of the cabinet.
It took us about 15-20 minutes to clean up the glass from the cabinet, counter-top, floor and dishwasher.
Not good.
