The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No incident, no one hurt

Made Dec 12, 2025, sent to the company Dec 17, 2025, published by CPSC Jan 6, 2026

The product, in the report: Childrens sippy cup involved in multiple recalls

Contigo water bottle for kids attached straw strap breaks off and drink, leaving plastic floating in the body of water. Her child to ingest happens repeatedly strap either needs to be removed or replaced safety defect, bad design, inferior product materials.

UPDATED ON 3/10/2026: [I also come to the conclusion that this vendor used this company used to belong to Coleman Coleman sold to take night. They inherited this problem. The straw strap is made of harden plastic. This is a moving piece hard plastic moving pieces it disintegrate it ends up, disintegrating into whatever fluids in the bottle for this child to drink. This component portion of the straw strap should’ve been made of either a rubberized material or silicone, either of which would’ve offered greater longevity and less likelihood of breaking off into a child’s drink, hard plastics when they are bent repetitively are going to break they are so is it a design flaw? Yes, it can be corrected and it should be children should not be drinking from products that have potential for plastic pieces to fall off a straw strap into their beverage. It was designed poorly cheaply made in China and here we are should be recalled and refunded and redesigned using components that are safe for beverages. Silicone would be preferable, but rubberized would be plausible if it’s a food grade. ]

The product, in the report: Contigo 16 oz. Huron 2.0 SnapSeal Stainless Steel Travel Mug in color - Pine Berry. It was purchased at Walmart.com, but is available at [REDACTED] and many other stores.

I purchased a hot/cold travel mug online which stated it was 100% Stainless Steel. The product brand is contigo (not capitalized), the style is ‘Huron’. The mug was a purchase for self use, but upon reading the label, I have not used it. The label states, “This product contains Stainless Steel (Iron, Chromium, Nickel, Manganese) Formaldehyde, Octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane”. Why is this company allowed to sell a product that has Neurotoxins and carcinogens in it?

UPDATED ON 1/27/2025: [Manganese can cause neurological effects, including memory loss, attention problems, and motor skill issues. It can also cause behavioral changes, such as irritability and social withdrawal. Repeated exposure to manganese can cause permanent brain damage, similar to Parkinson’s disease. Prolonged exposure to manganese can cause permanent lung damage. Manganese exposure can damage the kidneys, affect the liver and cause anemia, and can impact reproduction.

Chromium can cause various health effects including respiratory irritation, skin ulcers, lung cancer, stomach ulcers, and damage to the kidneys and liver.

Formaldehyde which leaches into drinking liquids, can cause irritation to the gastrointestinal tract, causing symptoms like stomach upset, nausea, and inflammation, particularly at high concentrations; long-term exposure to significant levels may be linked to increased cancer risk. Ingestion of large amounts of formaldehyde could lead to severe damage to the stomach lining and potentially life-threatening complications.

Octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane can have adverse effects on the female reproductive system, including changes in the ovaries and uterus, particularly at higher exposure levels. There is a potential for decreased ovary weight, atrophy, and vaginal mucification (the process of epithelial cells changing into mucus-secreting cells).]

The product, in the report: Contigo kids 14oz tumbler with auto spout (Aubrey models)

Contigo kids water bottles (Aubrey style) I am a mom and consumer. These are very popular water bottles marketed to toddlers and sold in the the US in places like [REDACTED] and target where I was shopping. It clearly states on the label that this product is made with formaldehyde (a known carcinogen). How is this legal to market to toddlers in the US? When you go to the company website ([REDACTED] brands for chemical disclosures) for more information, the link yields no actual page with information. If you search the product on target.com you will see the warning label is also right there under product details. Thank you for looking into this

The product, in the report: Contigo Coffee Tumbler

I couldn’t understand what the smelly issue is with my Contigo Coffee Tumbler. Why was I continually smelling mold even after washing the coffee tumbler daily after my use. Finally I removed the rubber grip and saw it was full of slimming mold. This was my daily coffee tumbler. I’m highly allergic to molds and this was a huge concern and possibly the answer to why I was constantly suffering from this allergy. Could this have been my heath issue? Well since I switched what I drink coffee out of, no more allergy issues. I had 6 of these same tumblers and everyone was the same, moldy. I have a photo and video of the tumblers after the removal of the grip.

The product, in the report: Contigo nautical spill proof tumbler 14 oz

Contigo spill proof straw tumbler- my toddler was drinking from it and a small valve came up through the straw. Fortunately, as it came up to top of straw he stopped drinking and I was able to retrieve the small part before he swallowed it. It seems that this valve was the piece that made it leak proof.

The product, in the report: Contigo AUTOSPOUT® Straw Gizmo Flip - Blue Product Code 72874 (closest as I could find on the Contigo website)

My 4 year old son was drinking from his Contigo cup (most closely resembling the AUTOSPOUT® Straw Gizmo Flip - Blue) recently and fortunately he noticed something in his mouth. He spit out the rubber piece shown in IMG_20180902_092852772.jpg. This piece came out while he was drinking and is clearly a choking hazard. This should be investigated from a perspective of potentially issuing a recall, due to the risk to children.

The product, in the report: Tumbler

Travel Tumbler purchased sometime around October/November 2014. The caller’s niece normally fills this tumbler with hot water and takes it to her room so that she can prepare a middle of the night bottle for her baby without leaving the room.

April 6th, 2015 the caller’s niece boiled her hot water and began pouring it into the tumbler as she did every night but this time after she replaced the top and picked it up the tumbler exploded burning her left hand.

She was holding her 13 month old baby at the time but the baby was not burned.

She has not been seen by a medical professional yet but is planning to go to the emergency room at the coaxing of her aunt/the caller.

The nieces left hand has a blister 1 1/2” long with severe redness all around it.

The caller has not contacted the manufacturer but does intend to once she obtains their phone number.
