The product, in the report: I am writing about the Bella Tunno Happy Sippy Cups - Transition Sippy Cups for Baby 6 Months & Older with Removable Handles and Non-Toxic, BPA Free Silicone Lid, 8 ounces. One of the cups was the yellow Hello Sunshine model bought from Amazon (a silicone chunk broke off the spout of this cup while my son was using it). The other cup was the teal Tiny Human model bought from a boutique store in Baraboo, WI (the silicone spout tore but no pieces fell off this one).
I’m writing to report a large safety concern I have about the Bella Tunno Happy Sippy Cup. I purchased 3 of these cups in October 2021 for my child. Since then, 2 of the silicone spouts on the cups have torn, creating a very dangerous situation for my son. On the first cup, the spout tore but I caught it before any silicone broke off into my son’s mouth. I contacted Bella Tunno and they assured my their products are safe & that I shouldn’t be concerned because they hadn’t heard of this problem from other consumers. This past weekend, however, my son was using another Bella Tunno Happy Sippy and while he was using it, a piece of the silicone spout broke off, which could have caused my son to choke. Luckily I caught it right away and my son is okay, but I am very worried this product will kill another child if not addressed promptly. I contacted Bella Tunno again but don’t feel as if they’re taking it seriously, as they continue to tell me they’re looking into it but that this problem hasn’t been reported and then offer to refund my cups. I have photos of both cups I’d be happy to share. Thanks so much for your help in keeping all kids safe!
