The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made May 12, 2015, sent to the company Jun 19, 2015, published by CPSC Jul 6, 2015

The product, in the report: “Room & Bath Thermometer” from Dreambaby Products (Tee-Zed Products, LLC; P.O. Box 1662, Jamestown, NC). The product packaging indicates that the product has been “Tested to Toy Standard (EN 71).”

I had purchased a rubber duck-themed “Room & Bath Thermometer” from Dreambaby Products (Tee-Zed Products, LLC; P.O. Box 1662, Jamestown, NC). In its initial use when drawing water in the bath tub for my 6 YO son, I noticed the cover on the underside of the product was easily displaced (coming off with just a slight amount of pressure), exposing a button battery. I tried several times to replace the battery cover in a manner that would make it more secure, but was unsuccessful. The battery cover does not include in its design a screw to hold it in place. Being familiar with the hazards of button battery ingestion among infants and toddlers, and the fact that this product is primarily intended to be used with this age group, I feel as though this product design poses an imminent hazard to consumers. The product packaging indicates that the product has been “Tested to Toy Standard (EN 71).”

The product, in the report: Bath thermometer made by “dream baby” water fills into a hole and it has 3 temperature ranges, cold, perfect, too hot.

Bought this thermometer at target for my newborns bath. While in the tub, the thermometer glass exploded and all of the red liquid in the temperature gauge leaked out onto my newborn and myself. The water was not too wa or too cold, there was no impact or drop to the product. It stainedy skin, my infants, the (heavy plastic) bathtub and washcloth.
