The product, in the report: 4 FL OZ sippee cup; green/whit/blue color w/ field and clouds in the sky; an apple with a face; and the lids vary from pooh to mickey mouse as far as I know.. I did not see any other characters

My son was drinking out of the spill proof cup and put it down. He then fell forward onto it and bruised /punctured right underneath his eye.

(8/23/2013) IN ZONE BRANDS, INC: Dear CPSC:
In response to the reported issue that your agency received on 08.08.2013, It is, of course, most unfortunate that one of our consumers had a poor experience with our product. Our company is committed to providing our customers with the safest quality product possible. This includes using high quality ingredients, packaging components, vendors, co-packers, transportation companies, etc. to produce our products. As well, all of our products are produced to domestic and international standards, CPSC, and ASTM requirements, and are thoroughly inspected for quality through vigorous and routine testing at each of our toy factories and through use of accredited 3rd party laboratories.
Our records indicate that we did have contact with this individual, [REDACTED], on Wednesday, August 07, 2013 via an email sent from the email listed in the aforementioned report. She explained to us that her child put the bottle down, and then fell. There is no indication that our product was in any manner the cause of the fall. Despite this, and despite the fact that there are no sharp or dangerous aspects of the bottle itself, we reached out to [REDACTED] on Monday, August 12, 2013 via email after we conducted a thorough investigation into any possible issues that may have been associated with the subject product. Our internal and 3rd party processing and laboratory safety testing records did not indicate any issues during design, launch, and continued manufacturing of this topper. This suggests that this product was produced according to our processing requirements and industry safety standards. We responded to [REDACTED] to express our concern and well-being for her child and that we apologized that her child was hurt by one of our products.
Our current internal company policies are to test each topper for safety and compliance to domestic, international, CPSC, ASTM, and FDA requirements after character design and after initial production. Continued monitoring of toppers is conducted randomly by each of our toy factories and In Zone Brands, Inc. on a daily or monthly basis, respectively. Consumer safety, especially children, is In Zone Brands’ ultimate concern and focus. However, while we make every possible effort into producing safe products, our company believes that our consumers, the parents in this case, have certain obligations into protecting their children from harm. If a person, whether a young child or an adult, falls, anything on the floor in the immediate area where the falls takes place could cause injury. In Zone Brands recognizes their responsibility to produce safe products for their given consumer audience and will continue to conduct sufficient due diligence pertaining to safety of their products.
In conclusion, In Zone Brands, Incorporated considers this event to be an isolated incident. The product was left on the floor and was apparently not picked up quickly by the parent. The child fell for some reason wholly unrelated to the product. When the child fell, he fell onto the product. It could have been any toy or other object. There was nothing about the product itself that caused any “greater” harm than had the product been designed in some other manner.
