The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Stonemill brande Adjustable Black Peppercorn Grinder, 1.76oz, from ALDI.

Pepper grinders from ALDI / Stonemill brand are designed with cheap plastic to prevent refilling. This plastic is not strong enough to work with the glass bottle the pepper is contained within. After 1 - 4 weeks of use, the plastic becomes brittle and cracks, which results in plastic ranging from small pieces to large shards falling into food. In our case, we found the plastic in our food after cooking and evidence that it had probably broken previously as well.
