The product, in the report: Ironstone dishes sold by the name of Maribeth by Pier One Imports -- Acworth GA
We purchased from Pier One Imports a set of dishes Ironstone They are called Maribeth On the back of the dishes they state that they are dishwasher safe and that they also are microwavable safe -- may become hot. We have had three different dishes blow up in our microwave upon use with food on them. I called the company to report a complaint and the store manager stated that the word microwavable -- may become HOT .... is the same as the dishes saying.... they will blow up if overheated!!!
I called the corporate level and the customer service rep acted as though they have good dishes and after looking further into their system ... she saw that they report yes, they may possibly blow up if overheated in a microwave. However, there is not a recall to date on this product the exploded while my son was microwaving it that could have caused him bodily harm.
