The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Martha Stewart Collection Lisbon Gray Salad Plate *I have pictures but the upload tool is not working on Firefox or Internet Explorer.

I was microwaving bacon on the plate for 3 minutes. It says that it will get hot in the microwave, but it is safe to use, and I’ve never had an issue before. When I opened the microwave to take the plate you, it was extremely hot, so I set it back down to get a pot holder. Seconds later I heard glass shattering and a small pointed piece of the plate flew past me and landed on the kitchen floor. The plate had shattered in the microwave and I narrowly missed being hit by a small but sharp piece that was projected across the room. The plate stayed hot for so long that I had to leave one piece in the microwave when I left 30 minutes later.
