  1. No one hurt

The product, in the report: Thanksgiving themed paper plate, ORANGE IN COLOR WITH GOLD DECORATION OF PUMPKINS, acorns and leaves. It is a larger, dinner plate size and the outside edge is not round but more like wavy. No markings or words of any kind on the back.

We bought Thanksgiving themed paper plates at our local Hobby Lobby to use for our Thanksgiving dinner. We ended up not using until a few days ago. I put a bowl of soup in the microwave for 3 minutes to heat, and grabbed one of the aforementioned paper plates to put on top of the bowl to cover and prevent splatter from the soup. I left the kitchen while the soup was heating and went into the bathroom. I came right back out and I saw THE ENTIRE MICROWAVE WAS IN FLAMES, ON FIRE, INSIDE!! I noticed that there was still a minute left on the timer, so I’d only been away for 2 minutes. Not thinking, I grabbed the microwave door and pulled it open. The flames leaped out onto me and my nightgown caught on fire. I quickly dropped and rolled to put out. I then grabbed the plate out of the microwave because it was still on fire. I immediately put into the sink and finally put the fire out. The inside of the microwave was left with ashes and scorch marks. I took pictures of the OFFENDER, THE PLATE IN THE AFTERMATH. THERE IS NO WARNING ANYWHERE ON THE PLATE THAT IT IS UNSAFE FOR THE MICROWAVE BUT I FIGURED OUT THAT THE DECORATION ON THE PLATE MUST BE SOME TYPE OF METAL.
