The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. First aid

Made Jan 11, 2017, sent to the company Jan 27, 2017, published by CPSC Feb 17, 2017

The product, in the report: Disney lion guard cup. Cup is yellow has a lion head with red hair lid with straw. Purchased from the Disney store.

My sons lower lip got stuck underneath the plastic red hair part on the top of the cup. My son was screaming and crying and we were trying to get the cup off of his lip. His lip would not slide out we had to pull roughly on the cup to get his lip out and it took a piece of his lower lip off. His lip was bleeding and I immediately applied ice. The bleeding stopped shortly after and he doesn’t need any medical attention. It was very scary for him and I and I don’t want this to happen to anyone else.

Made Apr 10, 2013, sent to the company Apr 17, 2013, published by CPSC May 8, 2013

The product, in the report: Product Name: MICKEY MOUSE Grow Up Cup™ from Sassy It’s drinking cup for babies. Check out this link: http://www.disneybaby.com/products/mickey-mouse-grow-up-cup-from-sassy/ the UPC of the product: 037977330205

The baby drinking cup selling on this website: http://www.disneybaby.com/products/mickey-mouse-grow-up-cup-from-sassy/ has serious safety concern. We bought it from babiesrus store instead of online.

Our 16-month old baby girl was playing with the cup while sitting in a high chair. She somehow covered both her nose and mouth with the cup. The cup attached strongly to the baby’s face because the baby sucked the air out of the cup. It’s extremely lucky that I was sitting right beside the baby. I had to use significant force to pull the cup off the baby’s face. Otherwise, our daughter could have been suffocated by this cup since she didn’t know how to get it off face by herself.

The speaker shape of the cup rim increases the potential area of contact with the baby’s face by several times. On the other hand, the cup opening is large enough to cover both the mouse and nose of most babies. Therefore, the chance of this cup suffocating a baby before 2-years old is several orders of magnitude higher than other regular cups.

Please contact Disney and urge them to recall this dangerous product immediately. I don’t want to see any other baby suffocated by this cup after what I experienced.

    Thanks.

The product, in the report: cinderella water goblet with mini water globe in place of stem

a childs disney cup exploded where the water globe was after removing it from the microwave. the rest of the cup was in original condition after the damage. the fluid gave my 5 yr old daughter burns on her tummy including blistering. i have had this cup for over a yr, and have microwaved it often. there are very tiny, written in clear, pictures on the bottom of the cup...not sure what they mean.
