The product, in the report: Contigo Autoseal Transit Travel Mug, 14oz - Stainless
Filled my Contigo Autoseal Transit Travel Mug, 14oz - Stainless with hot coffee, and screwed on the lid. A few minutes later, I pressed the button on the mug to depressurize the container before attempting to drink. The hot coffee sprayed out from under the edges, seams, and side slots on the mug lid. (Note: This lid is on top of the travel mug lid and is used to lock and unlock the button that allow users to drink from the travel mug.) Most of the spray came out of the sides and out of the slots on the sides of the lid. The spray went approximately 3 inches around the mug and was about 1.5 tablespoons of very hot liquid. I was burned on my chest and had, which required home treatment for several burns that were very painful, though no blistering.
This type of explosive decompression and spray of hot liquids is very dangerous on several points:
1. Users having the real possibility of unexpectedly receiving serious burns to exposed skin and tissues - possibly blinding someone. 2. Unexpected explosive decompression and spray of hot liquids causing injuries to the user or other people in close proximity to the user. 3. Unexpected explosive decompression and spray of hot liquids causing injuries to the user or other people in close proximity to the user causing them to react suddenly and possibly cause an accident or injury to themselves and other when operation a vehicle or equipment.

Hurt, no treatment Made Jan 17, 2017, sent to the company Feb 6, 2017, published by CPSC Feb 28, 2017
The product, in the report: Contigo Auto Seal drinking Mug. It is a travel mug
I received a Travel Mug for Christmas. Name of Mug “ Contigo auto seal”. Contract information: www. GoContigo.com or 1-888-262-0622. It came with warning instructions “hot cantents can create internal pressure resulting in discharge of hot vapor. Always press button with mug in upright position away from face to properly release pressure before drinking.” They do not provide a place to complain. I had used the mug a couple of times prior to my accident. I always pushed the pressure bottom and a little air would come out. This morning 1/1/17, I filled the mug with hot coffee and let it stand a couple of minutes. When I tried to use it about a cup of steaming coffee spilled out all over my face and hands. The inside of my mouth was scalded. Plus I had to clean up a major mess. I am 78 years old and usually very careful. But I started to think about what would happen if I had been driving in a busy freeway, or if my 99 year old mother had used this mug and had been seriously injured, or if a child had been burned while using this mug, or someone not wearing glasses would have been blinded. I live at 6,000 feet elevation and steam is not the same as at sea level. The warning is not sufficient to protect the public. I feel that a momentary lapse of caution should not subject a person to serious injuries due to using this time bomb. I am filing this complaint as a public service to protect other potential victims. All of this products should be taken off the market.

The product, in the report: Contigo Autospout 24 oz water bottle sold by Kohls purchased from Kohls in November 2015
I have a Contigo Autospout 24oz water bottle purchased in November 2015 from Kohls that the rubber ring inside the lid keeps popping off into the water bottle which poses as a choking hazard if it were to be swallowed up through the straw (I managed to see it before putting the lid back on). Even when I was able to properly get it back on, it’s managed to come off on it’s own. I have never put the water bottle through a dishwasher and always followed the cleaning instructions. I’d like to know if there’s been any other problems and if it could be looked at
