The product, in the report: Set of two stainless steel electric salt and pepper grinders
Several of my family members received Sur La Table battery powered salt/pepper mills for Christmas last year. So far two of the mills have failed in such a way that they dropped small screws into food while they were in use. In both instances, nothing obvious alerted us that anything had malfunctioned. We just happened to notice the screws in our food before we started eating. After the first one failed, I called their customer service line, and the rep I spoke with told me that since the warranty had expired that there was nothing they could do. Now that a second one has malfunctioned in the same way, I am concerned that this is a common issue and that a recall might be in order.
