The product, in the report: OXO Conical Burr Coffee Grinder. Stainless Steel. Model # 8717000V1
I have an OXO Conical Burr Coffee Grinder that I purchased in April. When I came home from work I smelled something burning and a whirring noise. The coffee grinder which hadn’t been used in more than 24 hours was running and was burning hot. The button on the machine would not turn it off so I unplugged it. It was another 3 hrs before it cooled down. I plugged it back in for a second to see what would happen and it went on again until I unplugged it. I later observed that the entire piece that covers the motor was completely melted. I feel that if I had not come home when I did, a fire would have started. Good thing I wasn’t away for a longer period of time.
