The product, in the report: oxo mandoline
Purchased OXO steel Mandoline at Bed Bath and Beyond. I read the safety information. Used the safety guard. Product slipped and sliced a piece of thumb and needed 4 stitches. I still do not have some feeling in hand. Spoke with company and they claim they cannot find an issue with product. However, I was using it to slice salami. Cut both ends off to make even edges. I feel this product should either warn against use with cold cuts and or advise the use of special glove, which I found out later was available for minimal cost. This product is not safe and I do not want others to suffer the the same fate. I spoke with company and they will not reimburse for lost wages, suffering and pain, etc. They wanted to give a little compensation to appease me. But I feel they need to advise others of the dangers and proper safety equipment available as well as compensate properly.
