The product, in the report: Maestoware® Handheld Adjustable Mandoline V-Blade V-Slicer - Kitchen Gadgets and Cutlery Accessories for Vegetable Slicer, Fruit Slicer and Onion Cutter Item: #MW-5018G Barcode number: X000UFNV6L
I purchased the Mandoline V blade V shaped slicer from Amazon on 5/3/16. When the box arrived, I was surprised that this doesn’t come with any instructions for the novice kitchen tool user. It’s pretty easy to use BUT a significant safety hazard!! The v-shapd blade does not have a safety cover. It has a “lock” position but the blade is wide open and out there to slice your finger with, which is exactly what I did. I ended up in Urgent Care where they were unable to stitch the wound closed because so much skin had been sliced off. Even using it as one should, it can not be safely cleaned, if you manage to get through your vegetables without injury. It needs redesigned and shouldn’t even be for sale. I contacted Amazon regarding what happened to me and they suggested I file with CPSC. I’ve also contacted the manufacturer directly.
