Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Rosewill Electric Hot Water Boiler and Warmer, 4.0 Liter Hot Water Dispenser, Stainless Steel / Black RHAP-16002

Device: Rosewill Electric Hot Water Boiler and Warmer, 4.0 Liter Hot Water Dispenser, Stainless Steel / Black RHAP-16002

The device boils and keeps water warm to 212 (or 185) degrees, for instant access to hot water. I used the product successfully for 2 weeks. Then I went to use it and the stream of water would not turn off. I pushed the various buttons and got no response, meanwhile scalding water falling all over my hands, running down my counter top, and puddling all over the floor. The only way to stop the fast stream of scalding water was to unplug the device. The water damage ruined supplies that were in my cabinets and shelves, but I’m most concerned with what could have happened if small children had been around...that’s a LOT of hot water spewing everywhere. Near boiling water was on my counter and floors of an approximate 4-6 feet wide width. Rosewill was unresponsive, but I have done my own testing and recreated the malfunction twice.
