No one hurt Made Nov 1, 2022, sent to the company Nov 4, 2022, published by CPSC Nov 21, 2022
The product, in the report: Looks identical to the [REDACTED] Air Fryer that has a recall for a different reason. This product is a black egg shaped unit, with a sliver upside down avocado shaped top/front panel. The controls are on the silver panel, within a back circular touch screen. It has a sliver vertical handle on the front.
Our air fryer has a basket that holds the food and a lower pot that it attaches to. A button which is under a safety cover, releases the basket. The safety cover is intended to keep the button from accidentally being pressed while holding the assembled unit. As I took my 400 degree unit from the main housing which does the cooking, the bottom pot fell off on my foot. I did not press the release button. This has happened 2 other times, when my husband was cooking but we thought maybe it wasn’t seated properly. Clearly this is a faulty latch system and a burn hazard.

The product, in the report: Power Air Fryer XL by Tristar Products. Black. Model no AF-530, 120 V, 60 Hz, 1700W
My husband used the Power Air Fryer XL to make frozen Chinese chicken. When he ate the chicken he bit into a screw that fell off the air fryer handle and got stuck to the chicken. It resulted in two of his back teeth cracking and chipping.

No one hurt Made Dec 19, 2017, sent to the company Dec 27, 2017, published by CPSC Jan 11, 2018
The product, in the report: 5.3 qt. Power Air-Fryer XL. Color: Red
The Fire Department that I work for was called to a single family residential home for a fire in the kitchen. The homeowners were using a Power Air-Fryer XL to cook a potato, no oil was used. The fire appeared to have started in the housing of the appliance. The area where the food was did not have any fire damage or charring, nor did the food (potato in this case). The fire caused significant damage to the kitchen area of the home.
