How badly anyone was hurt

  • No one hurt 3 CPSC: Incident, No Injury

As each report says it, in short words; CPSC’s own words are under each.

The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Electric Egg Cooker

My electric egg cooker caught on fire. I was cooking eggs in it, and I started to smell smoke. I immediately unplugged it and tried to put the fire out inside of it as it was smoldering. I ran water through it and the smoke would not stop so I had to submerge it in a large bowl of water

The product, in the report: Hamilton Beach Toaster Air Fryer Oven Model 31460

Hamilton Beach Toaster Air Fryer Oven Model 31460 is an unsafe product. The product was manufactured to have the hot oil collection tray secured under the cooking rack while cooking. The tray is retained by brackets attached to the underside of the cooking rack. Hot oil collects in this tray while you are cooking. When you pull the rack even partially out to check the food that is cooking. The rack tilts down spilling the contents of the oil collection tray toward the person standing in front of the oven. Luckly my wife was wearing an apron when she checked the chicken that was cooking. The apron caught the boiling hot grease before it had the chance to seriously burn her.

The product, in the report: Hamilton Beach 3-in-1 Egg Cooker includes trays for hard-boiled eggs, an omelet/steaming bowl, and a water measuring cup. It is one-touch cooking: fill with water, press the power button, and cook the eggs. 120V 60Hz, 300W

I received the Hamiton Beach 3-in-1 Egg Cooker for Christmas. I unpacked, cleaned, and assembled as directed in the included instructions. When I plugged it into the receptacle, it popped loud with a firey spark from where the power button was located.
