The product, in the report: are fryer
I bought an air fryer on Amazon and the nonstick coating on the basket that goes down. Inside of it is coming off everywhere into the food. I looked at the Amazon reviews, and there are multiple reviews with the same complaint, but this product is still being sold as is

The product, in the report: Electric Air fryer - red color. It’s purpose is to fry food using electrical power.
We bought a brand new Dash branded air fryer from Bed Bath and Beyond. On its first use, about 2 weeks later, we fried potato strips. Within 5 minutes the plastic inside and parts of the outside melted. No injuries occurred as we immediately unplugged the device upon noticing the smoke and then returned it for a refund.

The product, in the report: Dash 6 Liter Air Fryer Family in Aqua (AAQP1095)
On 2/19, I was using a Dash air fryer produced by storebound. Shortly after turning it on, it began putting off a strong burning odor similar to what would be expected of an electrical fire. Upon noticing the odor, my husband and I also heard a loud popping sound. We immediately unplugged the air fryer, but unfortunately it heated up to such an extent that my husband’s hand was burnt unplugging it, and the fryer cracked our 2 year old quartz countertops, causing $2,200 worth of damage. I was also able to locate two other consumers via product reviews who had similar issues with cracked countertops. [REDACTED] quartz countertops were cracked due to the air fryer over heating, and [REDACTED] countertops were cracked by the product. I spoke with [REDACTED] at Dash about the issues, but unfortunately he dismissed the damage left by this product, claiming that the company had never heard of a similar issue with this product. This claim, however, was completely false as both [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] referenced speaking to corporate and having their concerns similarly dismissed. [REDACTED] from storebound (Dash) claimed that it was impossible for the base of the unit to have heated up to such an extent due to the fact that the heating element is located in the upper half of the appliance. While this may be true, the electrical components are located in the base of the air fryer. Upon unplugging the unit, my husband burnt his hand on the base of the fryer moving it, and the countertops were extremely hot. Based on these facts, in conjunction with the odor similar to what would be associated with an electrical fire, I assume that these units are prone to faulty wiring or some form of failure of the electrical components which are housed in the base of the air fryer. I have kept the product for reference and would be happy to submit it to the CPSC for further inspection. I believe this product to be dangerous. Not only did it cause costly property damage to our home, it is also a potential fire hazard and is capable of causing severe bodily harm due to the extensive heat that is produced upon malfunction. I am also extremely disappointed that Dash cares so little about the well being of their customers that they would choose to lie about the safety of their products rather than investigating and resolving the apparent electrical malfunctions inherent to these appliances that are capable of causing extensive damage and bodily harm.
