My wife went to remove the fryer basket out of this electric fryer and as she was lifting it the handle broke off. From the looks of the plastic it apparently had burned to the point of not being able to hold three screws in place.

The product, in the report: Product Description: Cosori TurboBlaze 6.0-Quart Air Fryer Model Number: CAF-DC601-KUS Date of Incident: August 14th 2026 Description of Hazard: While operating the air fryer, the appliance completed its normal cooking cycle. I removed the basket to retrieve the food. Approximately five minutes later, the unit experienced a catastrophic safety failure. The control panel displayed error code “E01” (indicating an internal temperature sensor/thermistor failure). Instead of shutting down safely upon detecting this sensor error, the appliance experienced a runaway heating event. The internal heating coils turned red hot while unattended, and the unit began pumping out large volumes of thick smoke accompanied by a heavy, burning plastic smell as internal components melted. This occurred while the basket was completely removed from the unit. The appliance failed to cut power to the heating element despite the cycle being finished and a critical sensor error occurring. I had to manually pull the power plug to stop the thermal runaway. This is a severe fire hazard that nearly resulted in a house fire and could have caused serious injury or death had I left the kitchen. Im writing to report a serious safety incident involving a Cosori Pro Gen 2 5.8 Qt. Air Fryer (Model CP159-AF, Serial #: B/N: CU1001295T2225221063, 120V, 1700W) that was issued to me as a replacement unit from the 2023 recall.

The product, in the report: COSORI CP358-AF Pro II 5.8-quart Air Fryer
This is in reference to a Cosori CP358-AF air fryer. The three plastic connections on the handle that attach to the basket disintegrate over time from heat. When they fail and the basket falls off leaving just the handle in your hand, you are very likely to drop a basket of piping hot food on yourself or the floor. This is an extreme burn hazard and a known design defect. Mine was just outside the 2 year warranty (purchased from Amazon on 12/16/2022) but I have read about others failing within six months. I am reporting a safety concern with a Corsori product that I received as a Christmas gift in 2024. The product in question is an air fryer, and I am concerned about a potential fire hazard. While using the air fryer, I noticed that the interior basket, specifically around the bolts holding it together, began to melt. This caused the plastic handle to dislodge from the basket due to the excessive heat.
The product was being used by myself, as the recipient of the gift. It was being used according to the manufacturer’s instructions for air frying food. At no point did I misuse or modify the product.
While there were no injuries at this time, the melting plastic and dislodging handle pose a significant safety risk, as it could have led to burns, a fire, or other serious injuries. I am concerned that the product may be defective, especially given the recent recall of similar models.

I had bought a visor I air fryer from Amazon and after the first recall they sent me a different new model. While that model was preheating with nothing inside it caught on fire from the inside. It was less than 2 or 3 years old and minimally used. They improved no standards the products are unsafe they need to be recalled aswell. I contacted them they refused to escalate the matter. Its a model cp159-af which was not part of the initial recall.

After my previous model cp-158 was recalled and COSORI issued me a new one ( model cp168-af) last year. I just took new one out of box a couple of months ago and upon using it in kitchen every time it would smoke and I thought it was gonna start a fire. I also have lung issues and smell was awful. My initial thought was it was new and it would go away. Every time I use it now it gets worse and have to open windows or put in backyard. I am afraid of a fire. Clearly something is wrong and it has same issue as previous one. I would like a newer one with the problem fixed.

Cosori has issued a recall on their air fryers due to a fire hazard. I have filled out the registration form at least five times, and they find a problem with every single one. They are not replacing any of the air fryers. They are simply finding problems with the applications. I have sent them pictures of all aspects of my air fryer and the receipt for my air fryer, including my order number and shipping number. They continue to find problems with my application even stating that my batch number doesn’t match the model number, even though I showed them a picture of the underside of the air fryer with the batch number and the model number inscribed into the product. I have found online that all other consumers are having the same issue as I am. They are not sending out new air fryers to anyone. They are just scamming us.

The handle of my Cosori Air Fryer melted (during a preset french fry cycle), at the point where the basket handle was attached by screws to the inside fryer basket insert. When I turned the hot fryer basket over a bowl to empty out the fried potatoes, the entire metal insert and screws fell out and spilled the contents of very hot food, a burn hazard. The same model was just recalled for an electrical fire hazard.

I was taking the basket out of my Cosori air fryer when the handle and basket snapped apart. The basket started to fall, but fell onto my arms, resulting in 2nd degree burns that have left scars to this day (on both arms). Scars have mostly disappeared, but the pain was initially unbearable for weeks, and the injury was extremely visible.

I have had a Cosori Air Fryer Max XL 5.8 Air Fryer since July 2020 which I purchased on Amazon. I have used it frequently 2-3 times a week since then. Today I put it on the preheat mode because I was going to reheat some pizza for my son. After about 2 minutes it made a weird sound then popped with a big spark coming from underneath the unit. Luckily, I was in the kitchen. I unplugged it quickly and then my son said that he saw a burn mark on the counter top. I turned it over and there was a flame coming from underneath the unit and a black mark on the counter. I was able to put out the fire, but this product isn’t safe. I loved it and had recommended it to several friends, but am now very concerned for anyone that has this product. If I had left the room for a minute or two my kitchen would have caught on fire. Nothing was even in it yet. So it’s clearly bad wiring or faulty.
