    I, a 35 year old female, was makign chicken nuggets in my Chefman Auto Stir Air Fryer oven, and when i was pulling out the finished food, the top portion of the air fryer caught on fire, with flames taking over the top portion of the interior of the machine. I disconnected the unit and closed the door to the air fryer, so the flames subsided. There were no injuries to anybody, but anybody could’ve easily gotten burnt, especially my younger kids, if nearby.

    Chefman air fryer turns itself on. I moved it to different outlets in the kitchen and observed the same issue. I moved it to an office for closer observation and to have it on a different outlet circuit, and it happened again. I will keep it unplugged and will throw it out next garbage day.

    While using the Chefman air fryer model RJ38-SQSS-8T, smoke came pouring out of the top cover. After that, the air fryer no longer heated up. I removed the top cover, it pops off with a screw driver. Looking inside I noticed burn marks on a circuit board. I removed two screws holding down the circuit board to get a better look. This circuit board provides power to the heating coil and that part of the circuit was completely burned. The traces that carry current were burned right off the board. This air fryer has been in use for only one year.

    My daughter plugged in our new Chefman Air Fryer my wife got for Christmas to cook some French fries. As it was warming up my wife heard a popping noise in the kitchen ran in to see and saw the air fryer had caught fire underneath from the power cord and burned out counter top.

    My Chefman TurboFry Air Fryer caught on fire in our kitchen as it was cooling on our kitchen stove. We were in the living room eating our meal and watching TV news. We heard a noise in the kitchen. I went into the kitchen to investigate and found the air fryer in flames. The room was quickly filling with thick gray/black smoke. I called to my husband who got thick leather gloves and a low box. He pushed the fryer over into the box and took it outside and extinguished the fire with the garden hose. The smoke spread to every room of our house. We opened all windows and doors and set portable fans to blow the smoke out of the house. I spent the next 3-1/2 hrs washing ceilings, walls, furniture, and all surfaces to remove the smoke from our home plus 2 days of laundering blankets, clothes, etc.

    The product I have has an uninsulated heater coil touching a plastic case, which can be a fire hazard. The product is a “Chefman Air Fryer (Model # RJ38-V3-35T). After noticing the nasty plastic smell from the unit, I disassembled it, because I would never use it in the kitchen.

    (05/24/2021) The consumer unknowingly ate a piece of one of the rubber tips that came from the metal plate on the inside of the product. The rubber tip was mixed in with some liver that the consumer had cooked.

    When she checked the metal plate, another rubber tip had also come off.

    The consumer is concerned that this may happened to a child if the parent does not check the food that was cooked in the product.
