No incident, no one hurt Made Jun 1, 2026, sent to the company Jun 4, 2026, published by CPSC Jun 18, 2026
The product, in the report: Brand/Manufacturer: Bella (Sensio Inc.) Product: Air Convection Fryer Model number: TXG-DS14 Item number: 14538 Date code on label: 1843 Color: black
During normal household use, I pulled the basket handle of my Bella Air Convection Fryer (Model TXG-DS14, Item 14538, 1500W) as I always do to remove food. The handle and basket assembly detached at the bolted joint, separating the basket from the handle while it was full of hot food. No fire occurred and no one was injured this time, but hot food and grease were dropped, and a handle that detaches from a 1500W fryer full of hot contents is a serious burn hazard. Photos show the separated bolted joint and heat/grease scorching and corrosion at the connection points. The unit is ETL-listed under Intertek file 5012531. I consider this a defect because the handle assembly failed during normal operation.

No one hurt Made Jan 5, 2026, sent to the company Jan 8, 2026, published by CPSC Jan 23, 2026
The product, in the report: Bella Pro Series’s, 2 compartment, Black,8 quarts,
I left my home briefly to pick up my son and planned to return within 1520 minutes. Prior to leaving, I had been cleaning my apartment all day. No electrical devices were actively in use, and the stove was completely off when I left.
After I departed, a fire occurred in my apartment. Following an investigation by the fire department and police, it was determined that the fire was electrical in nature. Due to the extent of the damage, the investigators indicated that the possible source may have been an electrical spark originating from a Bella two-compartment air fryer. Based on the burn patterns, it was suggested that a residual heat or electrical malfunction could have sparked and caused the fire.
As a result of these findings, I am planning to submit a claim and formally report the incident.

The BELLA Two Tiered food steamer model XJ-10102A that I bought from Amazon in January of 2024 melted the bottom plastic area near the connection to the water heater mechanism. The plastic fell away and exposed a crimp connection which too looks burned up explaining why the plastic melted. I have pictures.

The product, in the report: Bella Pro Series Air Fryer Model TXG-FS075A, Item # 90088, Date Code 1934
Local FD dispatched for a reported air fryer on fire. Occupant noted smoke coming from the unit. She moved it to the exterior. Upon FD arrival the appliance was engulfed in flames and was extinguished by a dry powder extinguisher. Upon my scene examination I noted a recent recall of an air fryer by the same manufacturer

No incident, no one hurt Made Jan 24, 2023, sent to the company Jan 30, 2023, published by CPSC Feb 13, 2023
The product, in the report: Its a small box shape air fryer with a stainless steel finish. the bottom is comprised of mostly plastic, and the display unit is touchscreen with white LEDs . Bella Pro Series 6.3 QT Air Fryer Model : AF - 501C Item : 90110 120V ~ 60 Hz 1700W
I was gifted a Bella Pro Series Air fryer for Christmas last year (2021). We have used our unit as normal and as the instructions require. As of 2 weeks ago our Bella air fryer unit caught on fire, from what I believe to be some sort of electrical or mechanical failure. I was using the unit as normal, and about 3 - 5 minutes into it heating up, smoke started pouring from the top of the machine. Where the cord meets the actual unit there was a fire, and the plastic and wires were melting. I grabbed an oven mitt, and a wet towel and had to throw the machine outside, and use a fire extstinguisher. The plastic on the bottom was so hot it was melting and dripping plastic on my kitchen floor.
I have sent multiple photos and tried to notify Made by Bella / Bella Housewares for about 2 weeks now, only to have my message left for a supervisor who will not call me back. I feel as if some of these machines depending on when they were produced could have some sort malfunction to them.
Injuries that could have happened - my girlfriend (32 y.o.) and son (1 y.o.) were in the house, and if I had left the room to go do something else the kitchen would have been on fire.
No injuries were involved.

No incident, no one hurt Made Dec 1, 2020, sent to the company Dec 29, 2020, published by CPSC Jan 13, 2021
The product, in the report: Bella Air Fryer Model # 14645 Website: https://www.lowes.com/pd/BELLA-2-6-Quart-Air-Fryer/1000342723 Model TXG-DS14
I purchased two Bella 14645 Air Fryers from Lowes. One is for myself, other as a gift. After several uses I noticed the basket handle was loose. Two screws (and small washers) affix the plastic handle to the metal basket from the inside of the basket. They constantly become loose and could easily fall off. Dangerous because 1) the hot basket could fall off and burn a person and 2) the screw and washer could get into the food and be ingested or break teeth. I contacted the manufacturer & this was the response:
[REDACTED] Mon 6/15/2020 10:16 AM Thanks so much for reaching out regarding your Unit. We appreciate you giving us the chance to look into this for you. We have reached out to our product team, the screws can become loose with wear and tear under regular use and we do not have these as a spare part to offer. . It is recommended to tighten or replace the screws, you can purchase them at your local hardware store or appliance repair shop. Thank you very much again, Sensio Inc. Customer Service
However it appears from [REDACTED], etc. reviews that this same issue occurs with Bella products:
