The product, in the report: Anova Culinary Sous Vide Precision Cooker 2.0 (WiFi), 1000 Watts/120 V, S/N: AN500-US00-93202899, Black/Silver
I experienced a catastrophic and potentially dangerous failure of one of an Anova sous vide circulators (S/N: AN500-US00-93202899) today. On attempting to turn it on while immersed to the proper level, the screen began flashing, I heard a popping noise, and observed sparks emitting from the plastic housing. I immediately unplugged it, and observed that it had melted through the plastic housing. No injuries occurred, but I believe there is a potential fire hazard and/or shock hazard based on melting plastic and emitted sparks under what I believe to be short circuit conditions in a product designed to be partially immersed in water. The device was plugged into a GFCI outlet, which did not trip during the event.

No one hurt Made Dec 9, 2020, sent to the company Jan 6, 2021, published by CPSC Jan 22, 2021
The product, in the report: Anova Sous Vide cooker, original model. It is a heating element with timer designed to heat water for sous vide cooking. Model ASVPIPE1.2
I have a 4 year old Anova Sous Vide cooker, that began to smoke and smell like an electrical fire. It did not trip its internal fuse, but on inspection of inside, the connection from power to the heating elements appear corroded and burnt by fire caused by electrical arc across the corroded connections of main power wire to the heating element. I searched online and found several similar reports on posts trying to repair the device. I called the company to ask if the product was recalled, and received no reply. While no damage occurred, I think this has the potential to start a home fire, since the device is recommended to be left on for several days without supervision for long cooking times.

No one hurt Made Apr 16, 2019, sent to the company May 2, 2019, published by CPSC May 16, 2019
The product, in the report: Anova Culinary Sous Vide Precision Cooker / Immersion Circulator
I purchased an Anova Culinary Precision Cooker / Immersion Circulator. This device is a 1000 Watt cooking device for the kitchen. One day recently, the back of the device began smoking. I quickly unplugged the device from the wall, and saw that one of the 3-prong plugs in the back had melted and was on it’s way to catching fire.
I’ve googled this, and noticed that there are numerous other people with the exact same experience. This is extremely dangeorus, and I can’t believe there has been no recall.
I contacted the company, and they said that since it was outside of the warranty period, they would take no responsibility. In my opinion, this is a dangerous product that could easily burn down a house and take lives.

I was using the Anova One Sous vide cooker. After approximately 30 minutes, it started smoking from the rear of the unit. I unplugged it and found that where the power cord connects to the unit it had all melted and was starting to burn. The unit is inoperable now.
