Emergency room Made Oct 13, 2025, sent to the company Oct 27, 2025, published by CPSC Nov 26, 2025
The product, in the report: Ninja Foodi NeverDull 10-Piece Stainless Steel Essential Knife System with Sharpener, K12010 Black/Gray
while preparing food at home, I used a Ninja kitchen knife from a newly purchased set to remove an avocado seed. The blade penetrated the seed and passed completely through into my hand, causing a deep laceration. The injury required emergency medical attention, stitches, and surgical intervention for nerve damage. I have ongoing pain and functional limitations.
The knife is extremely sharp and cut through the avocado seed with very little resistance. The product manual includes a general warning about sharpness but does not clearly warn against using the knife for removing avocado pits, which is a common kitchen task. This type of injury is medically recognized (avocado hand) and warrants specific safety guidance or safer design features.
