The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: From the website: “A Masterpiece San Mai Chef Knife With Razor Sharp Cutting Edge, Turquoise and Rose Wood Handle. MEASURMENTS: Blade Length: 8.0” Handle Length: 5.0” Overall Length: 13.0” Handle Material: Turquoise, Malachite, Rose Wood, Damascus Bolster _______________________________________________________________________ Lara Eagle Authentic San Mai Damascus Knives made with a different and a unique method of hand forging technique to have better sharpness as compared to other normal Damascus chef knives. The knife blade is made with gorgeous Damascus steel, but the edge of the knife is composed with high carbon steel which gives high temper of sharpness like a razor. The knife is designed with detail attention, The knife handle is made with Turquoise and Rose Wood make it look beautiful, gives a nice comfortable grip and control of hand, making tough job easier.”

I received a chef knife as a gift from an Etsy seller (https://www.etsy.com/shop/LaraEagleKnive) that was described as high-carbon steel. However, it tested positive for lead with an at-home test.

This can be dangerous as it is intended to be used for food care. The cost of the knife was refunded, but I am concerned that this seller has over 15k sales by selling low-quality, dangerous, misrepresented items.
