Emergency room Made Jan 24, 2026, sent to the company Jan 28, 2026, published by CPSC Feb 13, 2026
The product, in the report: Arch Studio (brand) “4-Piece Stainless Steel Paring Knife Set” (title on package), “Arch Studio 2-Pack Paring Knife & Sheath Set” (product name on website). Set of grey and black paring knives approx. 7.6” long each.
While trying to open the plastic anti-theft tie in the packaging of a set of paring knives, instead of opening the plastic tie, the knife slipped through the plastic tie and cut my hand. The cut was so deep that Urgent Care sent me to the Emergency Room in case there was severe damage. I got 8 stiches, the cut measures well over an inch. It easily could have cut tendons or sliced my wrist. The knife slipped through the plastic tie because the plastic tie is not tightly around the thinnest “neck” of the knife between the plastic handle and the blade. The knife is in a sheathe, which is deceptive because it looks secured, but the knife just slipped out of the sheathe and into my hand.
