The product, in the report: Z Gallerie 4” cerulean Candle in glass bowl

I bought a candle from Z Gallerie. We hadn’t used it until only recently. The first time it was lit, and only briefly, the coating on the glass of the holder melted into the candle so the candle was immediately blown out. I am afraid this could be a fire hazard and has not been used since. The following day, I called Z Gallerie (the merchant)’s customer service line. I explained what happened and asked if I may return or exchange the item and my fear of it being a fire hazard. They refused to return or exchnage it since I could not produce a receipt. Further, I explained that I don’t regularly and didn’t keep the receipt for an item for an extended period of time that was not very expensive. Who knows if this was defective or if this is a fire hazard or how many other people this has happened to.
