The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: world market citronella votive candle

while at the neighbors we were burning world market citronell votives while swimming the candle wax caught on fire and was smoking my 7yd old daughter put a hand full of water on it and it exploded causing flames 3 ft high this is from a small votive the wax flew on one of her feet and caused severe burns and she had to be rushed to the ER where she was treated for 1st and 2nd degree burns and released. When I went on the web and goggled water and citronell I was amazed of how may sever injuries and deaths this product ( not world maket) has caused I went to the store and looked at a few and the warnings about using water on these are very small and hardly noticable there are on the back below the directions. I want a larger warning on the front of these products and a public accouncment about these by these companies! Most everyone I have spoken to about this had never heard of this reaction and danger. I watched my child do this not thinking anything would happen if I had only known I would have never let this happen!
