The product, in the report: Woodwick crackle flame candle. Oblong glass jar, purple color, fig scented.
I had been burning a Woodwick crackle flame candle for about 15 minutes in my living room. Candle was on top of a TV stand, not near a breeze. The candle was smoking and the flame was going higher than the top of the glass container, so I tried to blow it out. This just made the flame bigger, and then the candle exploded , [REDACTED] got above the wick line. At this point, it was still burning high, and was now no longer contained by the glass.
I poured water on it to try to get the flame out, which made it spit water and hot wax all over the top of the stand, and into my cable box. Which now will not turn on.
I got wax on myself, but managed to not get burned.
It was terrifying, came very close to catching the house on fire.

No one hurt Made Nov 20, 2015, sent to the company Dec 1, 2015, published by CPSC Dec 22, 2015
The product, in the report: Woodwick rectangular 3-wick candle, approximately 9X4X4”
I was burning a 3-wick Woodwick candle (dark red, cinnamon) in my kitchen window sill. It was in a rectangular glass container about 9” long, 4” wide and 4” tall. The valance curtain was about 4 feet above the candle. The candle had been burning about an hour and a half with no problem. Then, my daughter noticed the flames had suddenly gotten very high and were moving a lot. She tried to blow out the flames, but the wax was about an inch high and the flames would not go out because it was about 3 feet from the front of the sink. There was no way to pick up the glass container to move it closer because of the huge flames. As I was trying to get a large glass baking dish out of the cupboard to put on top and smother the flames, the glass suddenly burst and the was and wicks went all over the sill, down the backsplash and behind the sink (a huge mess!) The wicks were still burning, and we were afraid it would catch the windowsill on fire. We were then able to put a snuffer over the wicks and put them out. This terrified us both, and my hands and heart didn’t stop shaking for an hour. I have photos of the aftermath, it there is a was to send them. I will never buy another Woodwick candle, especially in a glass container. There was not warning, of course. Never in my 66 years have I ever had a near-miss fire situation like this, so I thought it should be reported. If we had not been in the room, no telling what kind of disaster this could have been.

The product, in the report: Wood Wick. “Spiced Pumpkin” Bar code - 63595 92290, Net Wt: 9 oz
We had a Wood Wick candle burning on an elevated coaster on a table. It had been burning for about 4 hours. It was located half way across the room from us. At about that 4 hour point it just exploded leaving the bottom 1/3 still on the coaster. The explosion was rather loud. Another larger part fell to the table and 3 other parts were thrown to the rug about 2 to 3 feet away. I blew out the flame and allowed the parts to cool. I did take some photographs. The Wood Wick was “Spiced Pumpkin” and has a bar code of 633595 92290.
