  1. Hurt, care not known

Made Oct 2, 2019, sent to the company Oct 24, 2019, published by CPSC Nov 7, 2019

The product, in the report: White Barn, 3 wick, candle from Bath and Body Works

I accidentally left a candle burning overnight in my powder room on the middle floor of my house. When I woke up the next day, breathing was slightly difficult. There was not any smoke but it was like the air was polluted. I found my bathroom was destroyed. The walls were stained black, mirror shattered, outside the bathroom the door frame was smokey black. I found soot all over my walls upstairs, on my baby’s crib, all over her curtains, all over the ceiling fans. I was in shock this happened. I have accidentally left candles burning overnight a numerous amount of times over the years. They would typically just burn out. I guess because the door was closed and it was a small space, this happened. I am still in shock and have to spend hundreds fixing my bathroom but I am thankful my family was not injured and that a fire didn’t start.

The product, in the report: Evergreen three wick white barn Bath and Body works candle

I lit a Bath and Body works three wick candle in my kitchen, and was doing laundry in the adjoining bathroom, about 30-45 minutes after lighting it, it burst into a huge fireball and exploded all over the place, damaging my stove, counter, and the electronics, with hot wax splattered everywhere. The flames almost reached to the ceiling. I have never seen anything like it.
