I am submitting this report regarding a hazardous incident involving a candle purchased from Walmart. The product became unsafe during normal use and nearly caused a house fire.
While the candle was burning under typical conditions, it suddenly flared up in an abnormal and dangerous manner. The flame became unexpectedly large and intense, creating an immediate fire hazard. During this incident, my mother was burnedspecifically, her eyebrows and hair were singed by the flame. This situation could have resulted in significantly more severe injuries or structural damage to the home. Based on this experience, the candle appears to have malfunctioned or failed to burn safely as intended. Due to the severity of the incident and the injuries involved, I will be pursuing legal action regarding this matter. I am reporting this incident out of concern for consumer safety and to help prevent similar occurrences for others. I can provide additional details, photos of the product, and any remaining materials if needed.

The product, in the report: It is a main sea candle. I have one in toasted banana cream pie in 11.5 ounce jars or the 326 g jars. The other one is sweet apple I believe yes its sweet apple same size.
I have been burning too Maine state candles, and both of them have cracks in the jar. One actually exploded and got wax all over my table and the floor. The other one just has a crack in it, but I put it on as soon as I heard it crack

A 3 wick candle sold at Walmart UPC 4722349542 has a plastic decorative fall wrap. When only burning the candle for about 2 hours, the flame heated up the glass which then started burning and melting the plastic.

On August 18, 2017 I purchased at Walmart supercenter located at 19975 south Tamiami Trail Fort Myers, FL 33967 I purchased a candle by the brand that Walmart manufactures which is a beans steak candle it was a pumpkin spice candle on August 18, 2017 was the first day that I moved into my new condominium unit I immediately lit the candle at approximately 8:20 PM I put it on top of my computer desk I lit the candle approximately 20 to 25 minutes later while I was in my living room I noticed a bright flash of light all of a sudden when I turned around I saw and I smelled smoke I could barely see in my one-bedroom condo when I turned around and I saw the candle they’re worth flames’s highest 3 feet higher up towards the ceiling I also heard an explosion I began panicking I immediately ran towards the candle and grabbed did with my right hand which causes significant second-degree burns to my right hand also the liquid wax that was overflowing out of the candle landed on my right ankle which also caused first degree burns on my right ankle I didn’t red outside and broke the fire signature glass grab that the fire extinguisher ran into the house and started extinguishing the for the 3 to 4 foot flames extensive damage was caused to my right-hand hand right ankle computer desk and thank God that my new condo did not like the building on fire this has been an ongoing problem on YouTube these candles are blowing up from Florida to California I have now hired counsel my attorney is on [REDACTED] spelled [REDACTED] sign P.A. Attorney to Law on Her office phone number is area code [REDACTED] her paralegal is [REDACTED] their office address is [REDACTED] their fax number is area code [REDACTED] a complaint will be filed next week I have all the documentations of all my medical damages medical records and I also have a witness which thanks to him which is the maintenance and pulley the building did not catch fire if I would’ve been sleeping I would’ve died from smoke inhalation Walmart has failed to put a recall on the pumpkin spice candles of mainstays until a family guys then is when they will’s then is when they will put a recall and hopefully that will not happen god for bid Walmart has ignored my calls please feel free to contact on sinus sin my attorney at the number I provided or you can also facture again my name is [REDACTED]. The product, in the report: Walmart Mainstays french toast candle jar 11.5 oz
Candle was lit on our coffee table. Candle began to flare up and the wax became boiling hot and caught fire. The glass cracked and burning wax spread across the wooden coffee table. Tried putting water on the fire and it caused the flames to spread similar to a grease fire. Finally able to suffocate fire with wet towel. If we had not noticed it, it would have resulted in a house fire.

Mainstays scented candle purchased from Wal-Mart caught fire shooting flames near one foot tall. This has happened twice on two seperate ocassions. The first time I thought it was a freak thing. One week later the same thing happened with a new candle same brand. Fire was put out quickly by putting a plate over it to smother. I am trained in firefighting so putting it out came natural to me but may not for some. I notice in a simple web search that this problem seems prevalent with this brand. I have a picture of the chared candle as well.

The product, in the report: Brown, Cinnamon Roll scented, 3 wick, 11.5 oz candle. There was more than 1/2” of wax in the bottom even after the fire was put out. In fact there was over an inch left.
Was watching TV in my living room when I heard what sounded like food frying. I realized the soft flicker that had been coming from my bathroom was too bright. When I entered I saw that the candle burning in there had turned into a torch. The wax and everything was on fire and boiling over. I immediately cupped water in my hands from the sink and threw it onto the fire, but it reacted like a grease fire and just spit flames and wax higher. My boyfriend attempted to smother it with a towel but it was too hot and was just burning through that as well. Finally I got the fire extinguisher and put it out. By that time wax had spattered all over the walls and down the shelf it was on. The glass of the candle had exploded. Luckily nothing but bathroom products and the shelf unit were damaged but it could have been much worse. It took about 3 hours to clear the house out of the smoke/burning smell with all the windows open.
The candle had been burning for about an hour. I have no idea why the WAX would have been burning as well but when it was done and over with it looked like the wax was more oil like. I saved the bottom.
