  1. No one hurt

Made Dec 24, 2025, sent to the company Dec 30, 2025, published by CPSC Jan 14, 2026

The product, in the report: Room Essentials Figural Tree Ceramic One-Wick Candle, green, 4 oz., 4.72 Inches (H) x 3.85 Inches (W)

The plastic seal ring slipped off the lid of a jar candle, got stuck in the base and caught fire while using the candle because no one noticed the ring has transferred. The candle is a 4 oz. Room Essentials (Target brand) Ceramic Jar Candle, Tree Figural (054-09-8392, sku 1 98850 51997 8) dates Q2/25. I was using the product in my home, on a table. There were no injuries, however I looked over about 15 minutes after lighting the candle and realized the entire inside was engulfed in flames. After several attempts I was able to extinguish the fire by blowing it out. If I hadn’t been in the room it might have spread or caught other objects on fire on the table.
