The product, in the report: Sure Scents/ Model (Peaceful Stream/Moonlit Waves UPC 639277 982514 3 . We received a complaint yesterday about a 2in1 Sure Scents candle (Peaceful Stream/Moonlit Waves) catching fire and exploding which was purchased from Dollar Tree by [REDACTED] in Dover. We visited the same store that the complainant purchased the candle from this morning ([REDACTED]) and purchased 2 of the candles. We also purchased Sure Scents 2in1 in Hawaiian/ Sweet Vanilla and Ambient brand in Coconut & Beachwood. We conducted a test burn of these items in normal conditions. Within 10 minutes of lighting these candles the Sure Scents (Peaceful Stream/Moonlit Waves) wax ignited onto a flame reaching 6 inches tall. The flame temperature of this candle was over 800 degrees. The candles with no issue had a flame temperature of around 200 degrees. We allowed it to burn for an hour this way before extinguishing it and the entire test was recorded. Both glass containers failed and broke apart. The other two candles had no issues.
