The product, in the report: Circle to wick glass

The candle I purchased was on the table lit and after a while, maybe 10-15 minutes of being lit it caught fire. Somehow it is all glass two wicks. In the matter of that 10 minutes, maybe it just was lit for about 15 minutes after that I was laying next to it, and it caught fire the entire glass case of the candle light on fire. as it caught fire, the whole side of it and the entire top and almost lit my light and my bed on fire the smoke alarms then went off, and I was awoken very scared. Didn’t know what to do. It was a decent size flame probably about 1 ft. At that time I tried to put it out tried to grab a shirt or clothing to try to put it out. It did not work. I panicked not knowing what to do. I grabbed a piece of clothing. It actually made it worse so then I did grab some water from a water bottle hoping that would help right when I was about to pour it in it did shatter completely basically blew up. I wasn’t sure if water would help with that but it made it worse as well, and that could be a cause of the fire being continued but being lit on fire like that is uncalled for. That gives other people the opportunity for that to happen to .

The product, in the report: Better Homes & Gardens Rainwater and Moss 3 wick candle (16.3 oz)

I purchased a candle and after approximately 4 hours of burning over a 2 day period, one of three wicks began to pop and crackle and throw embers. I was concerned the embers may potentially catch something on fire. The candle was on the island in my kitchen. No injuries/damage. I have contacted BHG and was referred to Walmart. I’ve contacted my local store directly and Walmart Customer Service. My local store offered a refund and “potential pull of other products from the shelf.” I thought this was not enough and called customer service and said that the Market Manger would call me within 3 business days. This did not happen.

The product, in the report: Better Homes & Gardens Dripless & Smoke-Free Ivory Unscented Taper Candles Model Taper Candles/Ivory

My wife and I occasionally burn stick candles mounted within brass candle holders on our fireplace mantle. We observed that the burning candle wick has a tendency to accumulate partially burned wick material that, over time, fell from the burning wick and started a second fire at the base of the burning main wick. The burning partially burned wick material caused the main body of the candle to weaken and to start bending due to the heat produced by the burning partially burned wick material. Eventually, part of either the main wick or the partially burned wick, along with melted wax, dripped outside of the candle holder base onto the surface of our fireplace mantle and caused a small burn mark.

The product, in the report: It is a Better Homes & Garden Crisp Fall Leaves, 18 oz. candle Model CRISP FALL LEAVES BH48-059-499-20

I lit (with a regular safety match) a Better Homes and Gardens 18 0z. Crisp fall leaves candle purchased from Wal-Mart. I was using it properly - the candle was on a solid surface, burning without the lid on obviously and away from other items. It was on my office desk. I noticed a cracking sound, looked around to figure out what it was and the glass jar shatters, sending big and little glass shards through the air. The flame of the candle quickly expanded taking on oxygen and it took a moment to put the flame out. I was not injured but the glass shards came very close to hitting me and it was difficult to put out the open flame.

After the fire was out, I did take a picture as proof.

The product, in the report: Better Homes and Gardens Warm Rustic Woods tealight candles.

I purchased clear plastic tealight candles from WalMart (Better Homes and Gardens brand) and lit two. One of them completely disintegrated, the plastic melted, the hot wax created a puddle on my mantle and dripped down the side onto the floor. The wick which was attached to the metal disc on the bottom stayed lit. Obviously the plastic cup is not supposed to melt.

I took a picture of it if that is helpful.

I called the company and they asked if I wanted a $25 gift certificate to WalMart. I would rather they determine whether the product is faulty. I don’t want anyone to have an unwanted fire due to the failure of the candle. They are having their legal team call me.
